Rabbit Garden Maths Activities (UNIT 1/6) | English Countryside | Beatrix Potter Inspired Printable Math Programme

This pack contains 6 (plus an extra one for free totalling 7), hands-on manipulative maths activities. This pack is themed with rabbits and vegetable gardens, inspired by the beautiful Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. Each activity is lovingly illustrated using my own beautiful hand-illustrated watercolour illustrations This is unit ONE of SIX- each unit has a matching theme and can stand alone or can build up to create a complete year one maths programme. Each unit will be inspired by the characters and scenes from a different Beatrix Potter book. Each unit consists of 6 activity cards with accompanying manipulatives, all activities can stand alone and do not build on each other (pick and choose which themes/topics to use and when). Each unit includes activities covering number, place value, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division/fractions, measure and geometry. Every activity has a learning goal linked to the UK Year 1 national curriculum, but activities can be used as stand-alone tasks. Aimed ideally at children aged 4-7 but can be simplified or extended to suit other children. These are hands-on activities there are no workbooks or worksheets provided, you can, however, pair with a chalkboard if you want to begin recording. Activities can be used in a range of ways: - Set out activities on trays or shelves for children to choose when they wish. - Use the activity as a quick mental starter at the beginning of a more formal style maths lesson. - Use to add a quick fun maths lesson to a morning basket or tea time. - Collect all 6 units to cover all aspects of the year one curriculum. To create a tactile finished item I highly recommend printing onto high quality paper, I like to use watercolour paper as this also allows the children to add their own paintings to the pages they create and means that every piece looks and feels like an original painting.
