Germination Tips: Use a controlled environment like a seed tray (bugs, birds and slugs may eat your seeds if placed directly in garden soil), seed starting heat mat, gentle misting with water twice a day keeping the soil moist, indirect sun light until sprouted. Transplant into the garden or other large container after second set of true leaves have appeared. Growing Tips: Keep vines watered regularly. Fertilize deficient soils with organic matter and calcium. Diluted cow's milk is a good source of nutrients and calcium for pumpkin vines. Burying portions of the vine (not covering the leaves but the portion of vine that touches the ground) will encourage the plant to root along the vine. This will provide additional nutrients, more robust plants and larger pumpkins.
